Queen Elizabeth II - was born on 21 April 1926, the first child of Albert, Duke of York, second son of George V, and his duchess, the former Lady Elizabeth Bowes-Lyon.

On February 6, 1952, she became our Queen following the death of her father King George VI. On 9 September 2015 she became the longest reigning monarch in British history, surpassing the reign of her great-great-grandmother Queen Victoria. We joined with her as she celebrated her 70 years of reign this year. God bless her. We now give prayers of deep thanksgiving for the life and service of Queen Elizabeth. May she rest in peace. Our thoughts and prayers are also with her family at this time. They not only face the loss of a mother and grandmother, and the changes that will bring, but they also face many tremendous changes within their personal and public lives. The passing of the Queen extends to so many other families too, and many nations, thousands, millions of people around the world. With her death, her eldest son Charles, the former Prince of Wales, will lead the commonwealth in mourning as the new King and head of state for 14 Commonwealth realms.
